For the first time ever, the Kennel Club is launching London’s very own week to celebrate man's best friend. London Dog Week is an awareness week taking place from 9th – 15th November 2009 to promote responsible dog ownership in the capital.
The Kennel Club is calling for anyone involved within the world of dogs such as training clubs, dog wardens, vets, schools, breed clubs, groomers and pet shops to get involved and hold events such as educational awareness days on looking after your dog, keeping children safe and sound around dogs, discounted microchipping, seminars by dog experts, discounted pet food and accessories and of course any other events they may be in the position to hold to help celebrate the dog’s role within society.
Kennel Club Communications Director, Caroline Kisko, said: “The purpose of London Dog week is to celebrate dogs in London and to demonstrate what a dog-loving city we are. The grand finale of London Dog Week, Discover Dogs which is held at Earls Court on 14th & 15th November will celebrate healthy, happy dogs and the important role they play within our lives.”
“The Kennel Club hopes that by getting involved with the week, dog-loving organisations and individuals can highlight their own messages through events and activities whilst getting support from the Kennel Club through event packs and use of our website.”
