Buying a Dog

Buying a new puppy or dog is an exciting and life-changing time. To make sure the experience is as happy and trouble free as possible there are certain steps that you should take.

You need to be sure you are prepared to commit the time, money and care that is needed for owning a dog. A dog is not just a one-off expense and you need to make sure you can afford all of those other costs - such as food and Vets' fees - that will be ongoing throughout its life.

Remember, dogs need exercise, they are pack animals and need lots of love and attention - you need to make sure that you have the kind of lifestyle that enables you to provide the care and attention that your new addition will need, but most importantly you need to ensure that your family will have the time available to make sure that your dog has adequate care and attention, throughout its life.

Too much information can be confusing when buying a puppy. There are reams of information everywhere you turn on this very subject and some of it is perhaps a bit confusing. We want to prepare you for what to expect and ensure you are equipped to make the right decisions when buying your companion, whether it is a pedigree or crossbreed. So we have simplified things for you in 3 Steps.

At the end of the 3 steps there is also a Buying  dog checklist which you can print off and take with you to the breeder
